Compensation Reports

About the Data

The data includes only the compensation categories described below and does not include every form of financial support a student-athlete receives, such as scholarships, cost-of-attendance stipends, or Alston payments.

For all sports other than football and men’s/women’s basketball, the compensation data includes institutional revenue-share payments reported through CAPS between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026, along with third-party NIL deals that were submitted and cleared between June 11, 2025, and June 30, 2026.

For football, the compensation data includes institutional revenue-share payments made – or scheduled to be made – to players on 2026 football rosters between January 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026, and third-party NIL deals submitted and cleared between January 1, 2026, and September 30, 2026. Note that during the pendency of the football season, CAPS treats virtually all contingent “performance incentive” promises in revenue-sharing contracts as scheduled payments, meaning they are included in this reported data as if they will be paid, even if the performance benchmark has yet to be reached.

For men’s and women’s basketball, the compensation data includes institutional revenue-share payments made to student-athletes on 2025-2026 basketball rosters between July 1, 2025, and April 6, 2026, and third-party NIL deals that were submitted and cleared between June 11, 2025, and April 6, 2026.

Depending on the sample size of each cohort, the tables show various compensation percentiles based on each student-athlete’s (i) total contracted third-party NIL compensation from deals included in the data set, or (ii) revenue-share payments included in the data set. For example, the 90th percentile indicates a compensation level at or below which approximately 90% of included student-athletes fall. The 50th percentile is the median. The number of student-athletes in each cohort is designated using the letter “n.”

With respect to third-party NIL compensation, the data include deals submitted to and cleared via NIL Go during the reporting window, regardless of when the contracts begin or end. Compensation reflects the full contracted amounts for those deals. Deals vary in scope, duration, and performance obligations required by student-athletes on behalf of sponsors; the figures therefore cover different lengths of time and are not annualized earnings. Rostered student-athletes who did not have any cleared deals in NIL Go during the designated time period are not included in the cohorts for third-party NIL reporting. In some instances, deals requiring compensation of less than $600 are submitted to NIL Go by student-athletes and may be included in the data even though the CSC does not review these deals unless an aggregate $600 threshold is met.

With respect to institutional revenue-share payments, the tables use the phrase “With $0” to indicate that the cohort includes all student-athletes in that category (e.g., all A4 Running Backs, all Non-A4 Softball players) regardless of whether they received or are scheduled to receive any revenue-share payments during the designated time period. The phrase “Without $0” indicates that the cohort includes only those student-athletes who have received or are scheduled to receive revenue-share payments during the designated time period.

The data may be updated as additional information is received.
